Janak is an experienced 200 hour certified yoga teacher from the Sivananda school. Sivananda yoga is a classical hatha yoga system which emphasizes relaxation of the nervous system and tapping of the life force through pranayama and asanas, using this as a gateway into meditation and the more profound aspects of the yogic practice. After many years of a mostly asana based practice, Janak craved an approach to yoga which moved beyond physical exercise, and found just that with Sivananda. Janak's class is constant reminder on being connected with the breath and guides the practitioner back to the present moment. You can expect to experience a profound calming of the mind and sense of inner peace from the inward focus of the practice. He teaches various formats - hatha, restorative and yoga nidra. Janak is a tree hugger and can often be found communing with the veggies in the garden.

This yoga class is open to new and experienced students. It includes a centering, stretches, asanas (yoga postures) standing, sitting and lying down, with explanations of how to come in and out of postures. There is attention to breathing and alignment of the body. Students generally feel inner peace, relaxation, and a sense of renewal from this class.
